Yorkton Council gave final passage to two bylaw amendments which will help pave the way for a new Parkland College Trades and Technology Centre.
The amendments were to the Municipal Development Plan Bylaw and the Zoning Bylaw.
"The College is beginning the process to develop vacant land on Dracup Avenue for a trades and technology campus," detailed a report circulated to Council. "This city-owned land will be developed as the trades and technology campus by the College."
In order to accommodate the proposed use, the Municipal Development Plan had to be amended from its current designation of Commercial to Institutional.
And in order to accommodate the proposed use, the Zoning Bylaw had to be amended from its current district of C-3 Highway Commercial to Institutional.
Both amendments found unanimous second and third reading support.
