The Saskatchewan Visual Art Project came into Yorkton Saturday afternoon at St. Andrew’s Church. The project is for all high school students in the province to highlight the importance of peace, unity and care for the Earth. Zarqa Nawaz, creator of Little Mosque of the Prairie, was the guest speaker. Using her own experiences in Canada, she brought to light the unique social and political advantage we have in this country: acceptance of diversity. Multi-Faith Saskatchewan, an organization that celebrates the differences in faiths and cultures, as well at St. Andrew’s Church, hosted the event.
