Poetry readings set

Hagios Press an award winning publisher from Regina will present two authors reading from two new poetry later this month in Yorkton.

Hagios Press will present readings from The Invisible Library by Paul Wilson and Rove by Laurie D Graham on Thursday, October 24 at 7:30 p.m. at the Godfrey Dean Art Gallery, 49 Smith Street East in Yorkton.

"It's an opportunity to celebrate new prairie books and also to demonstrate that Saskatchewan publishers are producing excellent books on prairie history and prairie culture," said Paul Wilson, Managing Editor at Hagios Press. He noted that Hagios Press will also offer for sale at the event other recent Hagios Press titles.

"Hagios is a publisher that celebrates stories from here," said Wilson, "This event offers readers in Yorkton to hear the authors read from these books and look over a number of Saskatchewan books that reveal exciting aspects of our lives, and our history."

Paul Wilson in The Invisible Library reframes the presence of the book within the collective imagination, and in the increasingly frenetic world where we live. This book explores the often mysterious ways that books allow us to imaging our own lives and the world around us.

Laurie D Graham recounts an experience with memory loss as a means of understanding the evolving relationship between a mother and a daughter on a prairie farm. What might best define Rove (Hagios Press), is its compelling voice and the breadth of its vision.
