Private street named

Yorkton Council has unanimously approved the naming of a private street in the city.

The developer of "Fifth Avenues Estates", located at 164 Fifth Avenue South, is proposing to name the private street within the development, "Cameron Way", explained City Planner Michael Eger at the regular meeting of Council Monday.

"The street will be constructed as part of the 38 unit, bareland condominium development, and will be owned and maintained by a future condominium corporation," he said.

Because the street will be signed and civic addresses given in relation to the street name, Administration is seeking a Council resolution to formalize the name, said Eger, adding the proposed name of "Cameron Way" is consistent with the theme of the area (nearby is "Cameron Street"). Also "Cameron Way" is not in existence in any other part of the City.
