Tourism Yorkton recently earned the Gil Carduner Marketing Award at the Saskatchewan Tourism Awards of Excellence.

The award is for marketing with a budget of more than $20,000.

"I never, ever, ever thought we'd win," offered manager Randy Goulden.

"The campaign was around 'Where Good Things Happen," she said.

Goulden explained the campaign took a multi-faceted approach, including print, direct mail-outs, attending trade shows, and using online social media,.

"We were marketing Yorkton as a four season destination."

"It tells us what we're doing in marketing is on the right track," she said, adding they do track their own successes. "We're hitting our targets," she said, noting that includes families and the recreational vehicle market. "We want to bring people into Yorkton from outside the city."
