Gillian Potter and Danita Thurston with Yorkton RBC Royal Bank presented Ross Fisher, the Executive Director of The Health Foundation, with a donation of $1,000 from RBC.

The donation comes from RBC’s Day of Service program, which celebrates National Volunteer Week. RBC provides this ongoing program for employees who volunteer in their community. RBC Day of Service Grant is available for teams of employees who volunteered outside of work hours on any day from April 1 to June 14. This grant supports and recognizes employees who respond to a community need that may be a one-time opportunity or helping a local charity. RBC is making a grant of $1,000 to The Health Foundation, which was the charity we volunteered for,” said Gillian Potter, Yorkton Market Manager with RBC.

Our staff volunteer with a number of organizations in the community throughout the year, and many of us participate in other events The Health Foundation holds as well. However, The Health Foundation’s golf tournament fell within the time period RBC had designated for the Day of Service grant, so we thought it was a perfect opportunity to volunteer with The Health Foundation and have RBC make a $1,000 donation in recognition of our volunteer service,” added Ms. Potter

‘The donation from RBC will go toward the Foundation’s campaign raising funds for a new CT scanner for the regional hospital. “A CT scan is a very important piece of equipment for our regional hospital and our current machine is 10 years old and coming to the end of its life. A new machine with current technology will be a huge benefit and improvement to our local healthcare so we are very pleased to make this donation,” added Ms. Potter.

“We appreciate this donation and the ongoing support we receive from RBC, and from the staff of RBC, for the work we do to improve our local healthcare,” said Ross Fisher. “The Day of Service program RBC has encourages staff to volunteer in their community and is a great idea and very beneficial not just to the Foundation but to other charities in our region and all over the country.”
