The Yorkton Chapter of the Red Hat Society will be hosting the ninth annual Saskatchewan Red Hat Society Convention on Friday, April 19 and 20, 2013 at St. Mary's Cultural Centre.
Following a request made to Yorkton Council at its regular meeting March 25, the City has declared April 14-20 as Red Hat Society Week in the city.
The Ret Hat Society flag will be raised at City Hall to mark the week.
In making the presentation to Council Red Hat chapter representative Margaret Cugnut explained the Yorkton group was organized in 2004, and has 47 members.
In hosting the annual convention Cugnut said, "285 have registered to-date," including delegates from all three Prairie provinces.
