Nine teams from around the Yorkton region participated in an inaugural event organizers are calling the Redneck Riot Coyote Derby. Organizer Tyson Chaban said the first year definitely a learning curve. “Faced with tough-to-call weather conditions, the nine teams battled through and brought in 12 coyotes. The coyotes are being sold at the fur auction and proceeds will be donated to a yet-to-be-chosen charity. “Without question we will be hosting a second annual derby next winter,” Chaban said. “Fun was had by everyone. Most walked away with some cash or prizes. Top team was Scott and Sierra with four yotes weighing in at 124 pounds. Second place went to Trevor and Bender with three yotes weighing in at 111 pounds. The skunk draw went to Adams team. We appreciate your patience with us this year and next year will be bigger and better. Thanks again for all your support and input and always looking for more input to make things better next year. Hope to see everyone again and new faces next year.” For more information contact Tyson Chaban 306-795-7437 or Jamie Senyk 306-730-8358.
