When one thinks of Laurie Renton a few words come to mind. Holistic; adventurous; friendly; inspirational; helpful; kind; entrepreneur; innovator. Her hometown certainly aren’t the only people who view her as an innovated entrepreneur. Laurie received the Regina WYCA Women of Distinction Award in the category of Entrepreneurship and Innovation on April 28, 2016.
Since 1981 the Women of Distinction Awards Gala has recognized women whose outstanding achievements contribute to the health and future of the community and are an inspiration to others.
Laurie has worked in the financial services industry since 1986. Her first eight years was an employee, then she decided to pursue her dream of owning her own business in 1994. L.R. Future Insurance and Investments opened and Laurie not only an entrepreneur but a visionary one.
She kept her dream going with a successful insurance and investment firm, and 21 years later she embarked on a new journey. She became a Life Matters Lifestyle coach after learning about a holistic based business model from a company in Loreburn, Saskatchewan. Laurie is the only entrepreneur to work with elemental Soulutions and their holistic business/organization model. This new vision and approach is truly paying off for her.
Laurie is not only dedicated to her clients and her industry, she contributes significantly to her community. She is the co-founder of the Parkland Chapter of Women Entrepreneurs in Yorkton, which help women grow and excel in business. She is also an avid member of Habitat for Humanity, YBID “Walk a Mile”, Parkland College Advisory Council, Saskatchewan Master Mind, Conscious Communications Group, and a member of the Yorkton Economic Development Advisory Committee.
Laurie truly believes in and is an example that entrepreneurs can only become successful by what they do to encourage success in the people around them. Congratulations Laurie on this well deserved award!
