Visitors to the Saskatchewan Ministry of Municipal Affairs website can check out revenue sharing totals for individual municipalities at www.municipal.gov.sk.ca/revenuesharing.

The website has users choose a municipality type; cities, towns and villages (including resort villages), or rural municipalities (including organized hamlets) from a drop-down menu. In the adjacent drop-down menu users choose the individual municipality name. Revenue sharing totals are captured from 2007-08 through this budget year, 2012-13.

As announced in yesterday's Budget, Saskatchewan municipalities will receive record revenue sharing of $237.4 million in 2012-13, a 9.5 per cent increase from the previous year and an 87 per cent increase over 2007-08 Budget.

In 2012-13 urban revenue sharing, for all cities, towns, villages and resort villages, rises to $151.94 million. Revenue sharing for rural municipalities, which includes organized hamlets, rises to $68.85 million and revenue sharing for northern municipalities rises to $16.62 million.

While the northern pool has been calculated, individual northern municipal revenue sharing is calculated for communities in mid-April. The website and revenue sharing database will be updated at that time. All pools of funding are up 9.5 per cent over last year, fiscal 2011-12.
