Robbery at Wishart Hotel

On Monday, May 7 at approximately 10:00 pm, Kamsack RCMP along with Duck Mountain Ambulance and the Kamsack Fire Department were called to a vehicle explosion on 3rd Avenue North in Kamsack.

On Monday, May 7 at approximately 10:00 pm, Kamsack RCMP along with Duck Mountain Ambulance and the Kamsack Fire Department were called to a vehicle explosion on 3rd Avenue North in Kamsack. Investigation is ongoing but it appears that the explosion was the result of three youth who were "huffing" propane in a car. One of the youth lit a cigarette which ignited the propane. The youth were all transported to Kamsack Hospital and one of the youths has been transported to Regina Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Kamsack RCMP continue to investigate this incident.


Wynyard RCMP responded to a call of a robbery at the Wishart Hotel just after 1:00 am on Sunday, May 6. Two males entered the bar, one armed with a metal bar/pipe. They made off with some cash. Units from Wynyard and Punnichy Detachments responded, but were unable to locate a vehicle or any suspects. The investigation is ongoing.


Yorkton Municipal RCMP would like to inform the public of counterfeit Canadian currency that has recently been circulated in the community of Yorkton. Business and the public are asked to be vigilant when accepting currency, in particular $100 banknotes dated 2011 and earlier.


Between February 17, 2012 and February 20, 2012, a Bobcat Skid Steer was stolen from Maple Farm Equipment, located on Highway 10 in Yorkton. The missing Skid Steer is white with an orange endgate, and weighs about 2,000 lbs.
