At around noon on Friday, March 30, an RBC Royal Bank branch in Invermay was held up by a male suspect who used a firearm during the incident. The man may have been in the company of a female accomplice.
Later that day, Wadena RCMP issued an arrest warrant for Tyler Darren Leeder (age 26) of Lethbridge, Alberta. He is charged with Robbery with a Firearm and Forcible Confinement.
Leeder is described as 180 cm tall, approximately 70 kg, with sandy blond hair and blue eyes. He may be traveling in a white Ford super-duty pickup truck. A photo of Leeder accompanies this article.
RCMP members from Kamsack, Rose Valley, Wynyard, and Punnichy responded to the incident and several roadblocks were set up in the area, but Leeder remains at large as of press time.
Anyone that may have seen a person fitting Tyler Leeder's description is urged to call police with their information.
Leeder is believed to be armed and dangerous. Police are cautioning the public not to approach the suspect, but to call their local detachment of the RCMP.
On the morning of March 31, the Broadview RCMP and EMS were called to a residence on the Cowessess First Nation in relation to the death of an 81-year-old male. The RCMP Major Crime Unit South and Yorkton Forensic Identification Services are currently assisting the Broadview RCMP. The investigation is ongoing and an autopsy was scheduled for Monday, April 2.
