Premier Brad Wall announced that Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall will visit Regina on May 22 and 23 to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen's Diamond Jubilee with the people of Saskatchewan.
"Throughout her reign, The Queen as well as The Royal Family have made a number of visits to our province and in doing so have forged a strong bond with the people of Saskatchewan adding to our own provincial identity, history and heritage," Wall said. "On behalf of our province, I would like to personally welcome Their Royal Highnesses to Saskatchewan, and would encourage all residents to help celebrate this unique occasion."
While in Regina, The Royal Couple will participate in a centennial celebration at the Saskatchewan Legislative Building and tour First Nations University. They will also attend a performance by the Regina Symphony Orchestra of which His Royal Highness is a Royal Patron.
A detailed itinerary of the visit to Regina will be made available from Canadian Heritage at a later date.
The Diamond Jubilee, which began on February 6, 2012, is a yearlong event celebrating the 60-year reign of Her Majesty The Queen.
While in Canada The Royal Couple will also visit the provinces of New Brunswick and Ontario.
