Farrell Agencies Male Saint of the month for June is a remarkably talented young man with a bright future, Grade 12 student, Dami Ogunbiyi. Dami interacts equally as well with adults as he does with students. He is very friendly and outgoing. He maintains honor roll marks and is a hard working, focused student. This year, Dami was a huge part of the provincial champion soccer team, playing center back for the team. This was his third provincial soccer medal in the three years he attended Sacred Heart, winning gold in Grade 10 and 12 and silver in Grade 9. He is no stranger to provincial championships as the banners in the gym will attest to. He was 100 m champion in Grades 9 to 11and 200 m champion in Grade 10. This year, he added provincial bronze in the 100 m to his resume. He was also on the senior boy’s basketball team. Farrell Agencies Female Saint of the month for June plays such an important role in building a community at Sacred Heart High School. She has proven to be a leader in her athletic leadership, her school involvement, as well as in her academics. Carley Ostafie faces challenges, but doesn't let them slow down her motivation. Instead, she learns from them, and always perseveres. On the soccer field and basketball court, I think that anyone would agree that her aggression and hard work plays a big role in the team morale. This student doesn't let a loss bring down her momentum. She even played a soccer game with shoes that were three sizes too small because she didn't want to let down her teammates. This dedication is also shown in her school involvement. She is a part of UROCK and the SRC, and spends her time trying to reach out to others! This Saint attended Outdoor Ed. this month. Outdoor Ed. involves being a part of a team, bringing a positive attitude, and always working hard. She has also been a part of the AP math course during her years at Sacred Heart and has one of the best work ethics of all students that I have ever taught in AP Calculus. She received the ELA B30 award at graduation, and maintains a 90+ average.
Sacred Heart would like to offer a huge thank you to Farrell Agencies for sponsoring our Saints of the Month. Their generosity is much appreciated.
