Each month a male and a female student is selected as the SHHS Saint of the Month. Saint of the Month students are nominated by staff and students of SHHS. The selection is based on: Demonstrating Christian Values, School work, School Involvement, Leadership, and Community Involvement.
Jessica greets people at the front doors with a genuine smile on her face. She helps trouble shoot problems for her peers. Jessica is always considerate and includes others. Her work is always done to the best of her ability. She works hard until it is complete. Jessica is always positive. She volunteers in the school when needed and has been in U.R.O.C.K. She plays community soccer, is a Teen SLYP-Out, and is a leader in the Special Olympics in swimming, bowling and bocce ball. Jessica works at Naturally You. She encourages others and when learning she is not afraid to be the first one. Jessica is not afraid to start conversations with new people. She attends regular masses at St. Gerard’s and participates in mass at Sacred Heart.
Jake has a great sense of humour, is mature, kind and friendly. Great things come in small packages! He does well in his classes and is an honour roll student. He is pleasant to all his teachers. Jake has been a member of the soccer and badminton teams for the last 3 years, was a member of the football team for 2 years, is a member of the SRC and of both the China and the Europe travel clubs. He plays community hockey. Jake’s leadership shows as a captain of the soccer team, is the sports rep and is a retreat leader. He attends St. Gerard’s church.
