For the tenth year in a row, Sacred Heart High School has taken top prize at the Region IV High School Drama Festival.

"Among Friends and Clutter," directed by Kim Wyatt and Teresa Hartman, was selected as Best Overall Production by an independent adjudicator at the festival, held March 31 through April 2 at Sacred Heart High School.

The Sacred Heart Drama Club will be advancing to the Saskatchewan Drama Association's 2011 provincial festival in Regina this May, where "Among Friends and Clutter" will compete against top plays from the province's other ten regions.

"We had a wonderful group," said Wyatt. "Teresa Hartman and I put a lot of work and effort in, and the kids were fabulous. We're really excited about taking this one on the road."

"Heaven Is...", Sacred Heart's other entry into the local festival, was runner-up for Best Overall Production.

Jamie Newberg of Norquay School won the Mary Ellen Burgess Performance Award, the festival's first prize for acting, for her portrayal of Sandy in "A Whole New You." Mike Kiapow of Wadena Composite School, who played I. C. Custard in "The Great Ice Cream Scheme," was runner-up.

On the technical side, Raelyn Hoffart of Wadena Composite School won the Bob Hinitt Technical Performance Award for her set design and construction in "The Great Ice Cream Scheme." Vicki Lazurko of Sacred Heart was named Best Stage Manager for her work on "Among Friends and Clutter."
