The 10th Annual Salamander Walk/Run at the Saltcoats District Regional Park is set for June 13.
And the event has a new major naming-sponsor in Cornerstone Credit Union.
“We’re proud to support the community,” said Cornerstone representative Curtis Malysh, adding the Salamander Walk/Run is the “major fundraiser for the park.”
The funds raised will go towards park improvements at the Regional Park, such as campground upgrades.
The event brings people of all ages, families, and communities together for a fun event that encourages a healthy lifestyle.
Participants have the option to walk or run either six-kilometres, 12-kilometres, or a half marathon of 21.2-kilometres.
The route is through the park, around Anderson Lake, through the Town of Saltcoats and back to the Park.
The event has had up to 300-plus participants in the past, coming from all across the local region, and southern Saskatchewan.
Organizers are hoping for a great turn-out as they celebrate the 10th annual race.
Registration fee for participation is $40, with a June 7 deadline.
All registrations received by May 22, will be entered into an early bird prize draw. Forms are available at the Town of Saltcoats office or the Saltcoats and Yorkton branches of Cornerstone Credit Union or online at www.townofsaltcoats.ca
