Yorkton's Salvation Army is still in need of volunteers to man its Christmas kettles around town throughout the month of December.
"We've had some phone calls from people who are willing," says the Salvation Army's Jim Pedwell, "but we still have a lot of holes."
Volunteers work in two-hour shifts at one of four locations around Yorkton (the Parkland Mall, Walmart, Superstore, and the liquor store) standing or sitting next to a donation kettle. Sixteen shifts between the hours of 11 am and 7 pm are needed each Monday through Saturday until December 24.
Volunteers who work three or more shifts receive a free meal coupon to a local restaurant.
Anyone interested can call Pedwell at 641-4321 or Envoy Roy Bladen at 621-4449.
"All they have to do is bring a smile," says Pedwell.
"Oh, and some clothes, too."
