SaskPower is encouraging businesses to invest time and money into cutting back on energy costs.
Representatives from SaskPower spoke at a Yorkton Chamber of Commerce (YCC) luncheon on Oct. 17. The event was attended by a small handful of business owners and YCC members.
“This is a good turnout for a local chamber,” said Pat Parrott, a SaskPower consultant and speaker at the luncheon. “We’ve done chambers across the province [and] maybe this is about the average size, so it’s good to see.”
Parrott discussed the expansion of SaskPower services during the lunch. He had a PowerPoint presentation prepared, but technically difficulties required him to perform an analog presentation.
“The need for more power is growing,” he said. “We peak in the winter.”
Parrott highlighted offerings from the Efficiency Programs, which include rebates on refrigeration devices and discounts on lighting.
“[They’re] common sense measures to help you save money on your power bill,” he said. “Drive some cost out of [your] business.”
