Saskatchewan East Enterprise Region Celebrates Small Business Week Oct. 17-21
Mark your calendars for October 17th to the 21st and join The Saskatchewan East Enterprise Region (SEER) in a celebration of the creativity, energy and determination of local entrepreneurs.

Entrepreneurial spirit lies at the core of this nation's economy as the foundation for strong, forward moving communities. Competitive, innovative small businesses play a key role in keeping Saskatchewan's economy moving forward in an ever-changing marketplace. As local, national and international economies continue to improve, the time is right for small businesses to take the opportunity to grow their business.

As of December 31, 2009, there were 94,909 business establishments in Saskatchewan, according to the Business Register
The small business sector represented 98.5% of all businesses in Saskatchewan (2009)
In 2008, small businesses in Saskatchewan contributed an estimated 33% of the province's Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

During Small Business Week SEER will host their annual Regional Small Business Recognition event. Multiple businesses will be selected on the basis of their outstanding business achievement, innovative spirit and community involvement. SEER is currently accepting nominations for this year's Awards. Selected businesses will be honored during small business week October 17th - 21st, 2011.
