Sharpe’s, Dupont support Churchbridge school

Churchbridge Public School has received $2,500 from DuPont Crop Protection as part of its Full Belly! Full Mind! initiative that supports nutrition and breakfast programs across Canada.

The grant will specifically be used toward the purchase of food for the nutrition program at Churchbridge Public School. Candace Mitchke-Hiller of Sharpe’s Soil Service, a DuPont Crop Protection retailer endorsed the grant.

“At DuPont Crop Protection we understand that children need nutritious food to be able to concentrate in school,” said Glen Fafard, retail account manager, DuPont Crop Protection.

“We are thrilled to be able to work with schools like Churchbridge Public School to ensure the children of our communities are receiving both the nutrition and the education they need for a successful future.”

The school applied for the grant to supplement its school snack program, said Lynette Kaminski, principal at Churchbridge.

“We know that nutrition programs make a major difference in the lives of children,” she said. “Our snack program provides students with the tools to learn, listen and to be engaged. We are thankful to DuPont Crop Protection for their support and the significant impact it is going to have on our students.”

DuPont Crop Protection makes contributions to community-based organizations on behalf of the business and employees,” a company press release stated.

“Consideration for outreach grants are given to communities where DuPont Crop Protection distribution partners, employees and customers live and work and that support quality-of-life initiatives to create an improved, sustainable lifestyle for people worldwide.”
