Each month a male and a female student is selected as the SHHS Saint of the Month. Saint of the Month students are nominated by staff and students of SHHS. The selection is based on: Demonstrating Christian Values, School work, School Involvement, Leadership, and Community Involvement.
Shelby is a kind, caring thoughtful person who includes others and likes to make others laugh. She has an excellent work ethic, putting extra effort into all her assignments and has a 90% average. Shelby helps others with their homework as well. In the school and community you can find her involved in drama for 4 years and as a stage manager for both plays, assisting with funeral services at Christie’s Funeral Home and creating the Remembrance Day slide show. Shelby attended the Europe trip last year. Her leadership shows in the way she helps everyone in the plays and she leads a positive example for children of her church. Shelby teaches Sunday school at St. Andrew’s is very involved in her church and goes to group meetings.
Aurius respects others and teaches them how to be respectful. He offers his talents and time to help others and is always there to listen and give out advice. Aurius works hard in all his classes and has a great sense of humour. Aurius is always has a positive attitude and has a humble attitude. He works hard to hand in all of his assignments before the deadline and he is an honour roll student, maintains an average over 80%. Aurius played volleyball in grade 9, played on the Saints soccer team, is involved in drama and in the Filipino community. These activities have helped to shape him into the socially active, entertaining and witty person he is. Aurius encourages others to try new things, shows others to not be afraid of who they are and stands up for others. He is very strong physically and emotionally. Aurius attends mass at St. Gerard’s, helping out with the Filipino masses, taking pride in being Filipino. He is also very spiritual.
