SHHS Saints of the Month

Each month a male and a female student is selected as the SHHS Saint of the Month. Saint of the Month students are nominated by staff and students of SHHS.

Each month a male and a female student is selected as the SHHS Saint of the Month. Saint of the Month students are nominated by staff and students of SHHS. The selection is based on:

Demonstrating Christian Values, School work, School Involvement, Leadership, and Community Involvement.

Rita has a bubbly personality, and is very kind and caring to others. Rita is in AP math and English, tries hard in all her classes, is an honour roll student and takes high performance as an extra class. In school, she takes part in soccer where she was top scorer and named offensive MVP, cross country where she was district champion and named rookie of the year, volleyball as a member of the district champions, and basketball which placed silver at districts. Rita played "Annie" in the school musical, she is involved in yearbook, choir (singing at all masses), UROCK, badminton, Saint of the Month committee, member of Sacred Christian Singing, participates in school spirit days and will be a member of the track team. She attends church every Sunday, is a member of the Legion Track club, takes piano and voice lessons, participates at music festivals, won the 5 K portion of Charity Road Race 2010, Ukrainian dances with Kalyna and plays United soccer both indoor and outdoor. Rita also finds time to coach under 6 soccer and refs all divisions.


Anthony always includes others and is a good friend. He takes the time to listen to others and cares about what they have to say. He is a very good brother to his siblings. Anthony is an honour roll student, maintaining a 90% plus average, is in AP math and takes high performance. In school, Anthony was a member of the provincial winning soccer team, is in cross country, volleyball, badminton, yearbook, UROCK, drama, track, musical (where he played Daddy Warbucks), choir and Saint of the Month committee. He participates in spirit days and the Sacred Singing Show, won math fair last year, and is a retreat leader. Anthony won the Saint Sebastian award for both soccer and volleyball. He attends mass every Sunday at St. Mary's parish, is an alter server, is a member of Kalyna dance, takes piano lessons, participates in music festival, refs soccer and plays both indoor and outdoor soccer. He was a member of the provincial indoor soccer champions this year. Congratulations to Rita Fetsch and Anthony Fetsch for winning Saint of the Month for February.
