SHHS Saints of the month of January

Each month a male and a female student is selected as the SHHS Saint of the Month. Saint of the Month students are nominated by staff and students of SHHS. The selection is based on: Demonstrating Christian Values, School work, School Involvement, Leadership, and Community Involvement.

Lexi is a nice, hard working person, who is a team player and leads when necessary. She is always smiling and laughing and can make people laugh as well. Lexi is in AP math and English, always gets her homework done on time and was on the Honour Roll with distinction in grade 9 and 10. You can find Lexi involved in various activities including senior girls basketball, volleyball, soccer, badminton, as a member of the SRC, in musical, drama and she works at SportChek. Lexi also leads children’s liturgy and is a leader on sports teams. She attends St. Gerard’s parish where she is a lector and an altar server. Lexi helps at the Knights of Columbus brunches and at Pro Life Chain for Life.

Ben always has a smile on his face and is always willing to help others with anything, including school work. He is willing to adjust his schedule to better adapt with the schedule of others in order to help them. He always includes others in activities and discussions. Ben has a positive attitude, a wonderful sense of humour and spreads happiness throughout the school. Ben does well in all of his classes, hands his work in on time and stays focussed on work in class. He devotes 100% of himself to his studies and as a result is on the Honour Roll with Distinction with a 95% plus average. Ben often goes above and beyond including taking classes such as choir, AP math and university English.  Ben is highly involved in the school and the community playing, coaching and referring soccer. He is in musical, choir, SRC, Music Ministry, yearbook, cross country, track and field, badminton, piano, and Ukrainian dance. Ben always devotes himself to all his activities.  Even as busy as he is, he always finds enough time to devote himself completely to his studies and extra curricular activities. He is always dresses up for spirit days and is a very strong singer. He attends St. Mary’s parish weekly, is part of the music ministry there and is also a alter server.
