Each month a male and a female student is selected as the SHHS Saint of the Month. Saint of the Month students are nominated by staff and students of SHHS. The selection is based on: Demonstrating Christian Values, School work, School Involvement, Leadership, and Community Involvement.
Kaitlyn is a hardworking, smart, organized person who is a great leader and always cheerful. She is very thoughtful and takes the time to talk to people everyday. She is on the honour roll with distinction and has won numerous scholarships and awards. She is the subject award winner for christian ethics with a mark of 99%. Her school and community involvement is extensive, including: SRC president, basketball, soccer, musical, dance, 4H, and working for the Yorkton Exhibition. She is on the Saskatchewan Council for international competitions, goes on mission trips, is on the Hearts and Hoover Drill Team and has grade 8 in piano. Her leadership shines as SRC president, with her retreat trips all over the world and at WE Day. She leads by example in the classroom, on the court and stage and in the field. Kaitlyn attends church at Theodore United Church and participates fully in school masses.
Justin is a positive person everyday. He is polite to both staff and students and is always willing to help out. He is a servant leader in SADD and has given up his own time to help run shotput at the East Central Track meet. Everything he does is done with a smile and in a friendly manner. Justin works extremely hard in class. He puts in his best effort in each of his classes and has achieved success due to his excellent work ethic. Justin is a valued member of the SADD group and has been a tireless worker for the group, giving his own time to raise funds so that speakers can be brought in to advocate on the dangers of driving under the influence and distracted driving. He also took part in WE Day learning about social justice issues. He has been an excellent worker for the Sacred Heart group running shotput at East Central District Track as well as the SHSAA provincials last year. Justin worked hard to ensure the success of the SADD group. He has been a willing helper with school masses and liturgies and has taken a leadership role in our faith celebrations. He is a member of St. Gerard’s parish. He will be missed at Sacred Heart.
Congratulations to Kaitlyn Kitzan and Justin St. Pierre for winning Saint of the Month for June.
