Each month a male and a female student is selected as the SHHS Saint of the Month. Saint of the Month students are nominated by staff and students of SHHS. The selection is based on: Demonstrating Christian Values, School work, School Involvement, Leadership, and Community Involvement.
Caitlin Woloschuk is a kind, caring and friendly person who loves to help others. She has a happy attitude and always treats others with respect. Caitlin is the kind of person who can make anyone smile, turning their bad day into a good one. She has a compliment for everyone and is always willing to listen to them. Caitlin loves learning and going to school. She is a hard working person who strives for the best. She is in AP English, maintains an honour roll average and has won many subject awards in her years at Sacred Heart. Caitlin has also won the student organization service plus award and she plans to attend university in Edinburgh, Scotland. Her school involvement is extensive, including: Think Fast, U.R.O.C.K, Just Youth, drama, musical, outdoor ed., band, newspaper, Saint of the Month committee, skills Canada, AMPO leader, and she was part of the Europe trip. Her leadership shines by the examples she sets. She started the debate club, always participates in activities and encourages others to as well. In the community, Caitlin is heavily involved and includes activities such as: Canadian Blood Services student ambassador for SHHS, life guarding, teaching swimming lessons, volunteers for gift wrapping at the mall during Christmas, is involved with the Kids help phone and finds time to baby sit as well.
Mark Kuemper is a very mature and kind person. He never gossips or speaks unkindly of others. He gets along well with teachers and always encourages his team mates. Mark has been on the honour roll every year since grade 9 and has won many subject awards in that time. He is also heavily involved in both club and school sports. These include football, soccer, volleyball, basketball and badminton. He has won many awards in these areas including many MVP awards, rookie of the year, most improved player, Raider Classic Allstar and York City Classic Allstar. Mark has won Athlete of the Month for all his years from grade 9 to 12. He has also found time to be involved in drama and work at Canadian Tire, where he is always willing to help the customers.
