The winter of 1946-47. The location: south of Yorkton on the Canadian National Railway line. If Yorkton and area folks feel we had way too much snow this winter, here is a photo showing how bad it was during the winter of 1946-47. The blizzards raged for a few weeks and covered the province. It buried villages and towns and caused some country roads to be plugged until the March thaw. Snow banks were 8 or more feet high. Thank you to John Maluga for his donations of photos to our Archives.
