Some 235 snowmobile enthusiasts descended on Yorkton Saturday, February 8th for the 37th Easter Seals Snowarama. The day started early with registration and breakfast at the Gallagher Center. Riders revved up and blasted off between 9:30 and 10 a.m. following a course out to Good Spirit Provincial Park for a lunch stop before returning to Yorkton.
Mayor Bob Maloney hosted the evening awards banquet. Highlight of the evening was the introduction of 2014 Easter Seals Snowarama Ambassador--Brooke Perpeluk. Brooke shared her gratitude and joy for her time at Camp Easter Seals and, also, helped with many of the awards.
Thanks to the riders, their pledges, and corporate sponsors over $135, 000 was raised. Easter Seals Snowarama funds three children's programs that are offered and operated by the Saskatchewan Abilities Council: Adaptive Technology Services; Summer Fun: Camp Easter Seal. The programs provide self confidence, independence, and recreational opportunities for children with disabilities in Saskatchewan.
