Valdeen Mathies, a board Member with the St. Peter’s Hospital Foundation and Lisa Alspach, St. Peter’s Hospital Facility Manager presented Ross Fisher, Executive Director of The Health Foundation with a cheque on behalf of the Board. “Our board felt strongly that we wanted to support the campaign for new CT equipment,” said Mrs. Mathies. “Certainly people from Melville and this area will be using the new CT scanner, and we think it’s important to have good equipment for our residents.”

“This is important to our community and the whole region,” said Lisa Alspach. “We are not getting a CT scanner in Melville anytime soon, so everyone in this area will continue to use the CT in Yorkton. We do make extensive use of the CT as well. For example, whenever anyone in the St. Peter’s hospital or in the Melville area has a stroke, they are off to Yorkton for a CT scan immediately.”

“This is a wonderful donation and very generous. The Foundation board had told us some time ago that they were going to make a donation, and we are very grateful. We have had terrific support from the whole of the health region for our fundraising for the new CT. Donations like this one from St. Peter’s Hospital Foundation remind people that we are all part of the same community,” said Ross Fisher.
