Ross Fisher, Executive Director of The Health Foundation accepted a cheque for $1,000 from Dean and Eileen Fyck, the owners of Truck Proz. "We have been supporting The Health Foundation for a few years, and we are pleased to continue working with them to add new healthcare services for the community," said Dean Fyck. "Many of our employees are younger and are starting families and having good healthcare in the community is important to them and to Eileen and me." The STARS heli-pad is important because it's the sort of thing you hope you never have to use, but if you or someone you know needs it, you want it to be there because it will save lives," continued Mr. Fyck. "I hope other people in the business community get behind this project too", he added. "We are grateful for this donation and very glad that we continue to earn the support of people like Dean and Eileen," said Ross Fisher. "STARS air ambulance can make a huge difference to patients by being able to get them to hospital fast enough to save lives, and fast enough to make a big difference in how fully some patients will be able to recover from significant trauma to the body, said Mr. Fisher. "This is the kind of program that it just makes sense for us to participate in," he continued. "The Province will pay 80% of the cost to build the heli-pad and, for the necessary renovations to the hospital. We have a one-time cost to put the infrastructure in place, and after that the province and STARS look after the operating costs. I hope the community sees the value of this service and supports our fundraising efforts."
