Colourful quilts and a variety of other works of art by York Colony Quilters Guild is on display from now till late October. Eleven members of this longtime circle of avid quilters are represented in this exhibition, along with some group projects.

The Brayden Ottenbreit Memorial Book Fund, generously supported and annually funded by the Kinsmen Club of Yorkton, is currently accepting applications for the provision of books or other items valued at approximately $500 to any school, group or organization in the Yorkton area that are in need of materials to promote and encourage literacy. Interested parties are encouraged to submit a 500-word essay to [email protected] before Fri., Oct. 31, stating their need and the items they wish to receive through this funding.

Join us in the fight against diabetes! The Canadian Diabetes Association will be knocking on doors for our annual residential campaign from Oct. 15 to 30, 2014. Every year in Saskatchewan the Canadian Diabetes Association runs an annual door-to-door fundraising Residential Campaign. Generous individuals from across the province make financial donations when volunteer canvassers knock on their doors. The money raised during this fundraiser goes towards research, advocacy and public educational programming which support individuals living with and affected by all three forms of Diabetes (type 1, type 2 and gestational). With over 90,000 people in Saskatchewan living with diabetes, your contribution will help those individuals who are personally affected by diabetes find ways to live a full, healthy and active life.
