Street paving tender approved

Yorkton Council has unanimously approved acceptance of a tendered contract for the City's 2011 Asphalt Paving Program. The tender closed on June 17, 2011. There was one bid from Fedorowich Construction Ltd.


Yorkton Council has unanimously approved acceptance of a tendered contract for the City's 2011 Asphalt Paving Program.

The tender closed on June 17, 2011. There was one bid from Fedorowich Construction Ltd., explained Moshiur Raham, City Engineer at the regular meeting of Yorkton Council June 27.

The tendered price was $489,970.

In addition to the tendered price, $90,000 was added to cover granular supply costs, and a 15 per cent contingency fund of $86,996.

The total paving program cost is set at $666,966, which falls within the budgeted figure, said Gord Shaw, Director of Planning and Engineering with the City.

The 2011 Asphalt Paving Program consists of the following;
Broadway Bikeway/Walkway from Dracup Avenue to Kelsey Bay
Winchester Bikeway/Walkway from King Street to Sunset Drive South
Paving of Good Spirit Crescent
Paving of Riverside Meadows II
Construction of Lanes in Riverside Meadows I and II
