Investigators from the Punnichy RCMP detachment as well as RCMP Major Crimes, Regina Office, continue to actively investigate the suspicious sudden death on the Muskowekwan First Nation. RCMP investigators have now confirmed the death of the 81 year old male was caused by foul play and are treating the investigation as a homicide. The victim has been identified as Lawrence Pambrun, an 81 year old male from the Muskowekwan First Nation. Pambrun was found deceased by family members inside his residence at #470 on the First Nation. Due to the nature of the investigation, the exact cause of death will not be released.
The Punnichy detachment is being assisted by investigators from the Major Crime Unit - Regina, Yorkton Forensic Identification Section, Regina and Yorkton General Investigation Sections, Southern Enforcement Response Team, and the Office of the Chief Coroner.

Identity thief may be targeting flood victimsOn Tuesday, July 13, Yorkton City RCMP received a complaint of a male individual claiming to be a contractor offering services for flood victims. During the interview, the individual requested the homeowner's social insurance number and health card number. The homeowner later checked in with her insurance company and found that they had not sent anyone out to see her. The homeowner described the male as Caucasian, approximately 25-30 years old, and 5'9" tall with a medium build and close-cut blonde hair. He was driving a small brown station wagon.

Canora RCMP have located the bodies of both men missing from a pickup truck swept into the Whitesand River near Springside last Sunday. On the afternoon of Tuesday, July 13, the truck was located and removed from the river. The body of 73-year-old Yorkton man Nick Zenkewich was found inside.
The body of the second man, an 84-year-old Yorkton resident whose name has not been released, was found on Saturday afternoon. RCMP members riding kayaks spotted the man's body surfaced among some debris half a mile downriver from the accident.The 65-year-old driver of the truck, who escaped from the vehicle and summoned help, was arrested on the day of the accident but released two days later. No charges have yet been laid in relation to the incident.
Collision east of YorktonYorkton Rural RCMP, Yorkton Fire, and EMS responded to a two-vehicle collision with injuries that occurred at about 8:00 am on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 10 km east of Yorkton, SK on Hwy #10. An eastbound vehicle sideswiped a westbound semi power unit. The driver and lone occupant of the eastbound vehicle was extracted with the Jaws of Life. The seriousness of the injuries are not known at this time. The driver of the semi power unit was not injured.
