Counseling involves the results of testing, treatment options, lifestyle risks, and prevention of spread. Immunization for Hepatitis A and B are provided and monitored as well as viral load monitoring. Pleased to report that 28 of 71 baselines tested are clear of Hep C viral load.

*Dental staff collected water samples for fluoride testing in Bangor and Calder (all communities in Sunrise are to be tested in 2015 as per provincial protocol Saskatchewan Dental Public Health Network).

*Dietician Community Educator met with both school divisions in Sunrise – sharing resources developed by our group including the October School Nutrition Poster which they will share with the Principals within their division. Nutrition Self Study course which is available for teachers or nutrition support workers were also shared.

*The Age Friendly committee conducted tow focus groups with approximately 25 people in attendance. Focus on improving public transportation, limited housing choices available, barriers to social participation, difficulties obtaining information about upcoming events or services offered in Yorkton and their experiences with health care. We may look at developing an online survey to get more feedback from other communities.

*The Chronic Disease Management/Nurse Practitioner meeting was held Sept. 28, at the Sunrise Health and Wellness Centre. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss how to improve access to programs. We will be doing pilot of Diabetes Education outreach to Canora. The NP will work with the Diabetes Education team to schedule five clients each month. We will use Dietician resources from North and Diabetes Educator Registered Nurse from Primary Health Care.

*A community planning meeting was held in Kamsack to discuss the development and direction of the Kamsack Family Resource Centre. Over 25 people were in attendance and an Advisory Committee was developed to continue the work of the group. Kamsack Family Resource Centre was officially open to the community on Oct. 6, 2015. Bev Whitehawk began as Nurse Navigator for Kamsack on Sept. 23, 2015.

Public Parking at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre generated $52,064 for the period of April 1, 2015 to Aug. 31, 2015; $37,726 was budgeted, a surplus of $14,338 which will continue to be used to fund improvements in our parking areas.

• Decommissioning of Sunrise Regional Laundry Services Plant is progressing well. To date over 100 transition issues were identified and communicated to 3sHealth and KBro. KBro has been responsive and customer focused throughout.

*We showcased our newest book on Kids First at the Saskatoon Conference and have had many requests for future speaking engagements and purchases of the resource.
