Suspect sought in local break-in

On August 3, 2010 at approximately 8:40 pm, a male suspect broke a small garage door window located in the fenced compound of a business on Broadway Street East and 7th Avenue North, Yorkton.

On August 3, 2010 at approximately 8:40 pm, a male suspect broke a small garage door window located in the fenced compound of a business on Broadway Street East and 7th Avenue North, Yorkton. The suspect was likely attempting to gain entry into the building, but was scared off by a store employee who heard the glass breaking.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male approximately 30 to 40 years old. The suspect is believed to be approximately 5'6" and heavier set, at approximately 200 lbs. He was wearing black sunglasses, a black or dark grey dress-style felt hat, and black gloves.Hit and run

On August, 5, 2010, RCMP were advised of a hit and run accident that occurred in a business parking lot located on Hamilton Road on July 31, 2010. The complainant parked her vehicle close to the grocery doors entrance at approximately 2:00 pm on that date. She returned to her vehicle approximately 1.5 hours later. When she returned, she noticed damage above the rear bumper of her vehicle. The complainant did not see anyone in the area and no note was left on her vehicle. The complainant's vehicle is a grey 2005 Chrysler Sebring.

Theft suspect arrested

Gabriel Poundmaker (19) of North Battleford who was being sought for Break, Enter & Theft over $5,000 and Theft under $5,000, was arrested by Yorkton RCMP on August 14th at approximately 9:00 pm when he was encountered by officers on patrol.

Poundmaker had been charged in relation to a break and enter to a business in Leoville, Saskatchewan on August 10, 2010. Poundmaker is to be remanded in custody to appear in North Battleford court on Wednesday, August 18th. This matter and numerous other thefts of ATM's in the province remain under investigation and more information will be released upon availability.
