We received this photo from a lady in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She wanted to know details and the value of this antique box. She tells us how she came into its ownership. "My boyfriend is a handyman and the guy he was working for told him to clean out his shed and toss everything. Well he stopped at home for lunch before heading to the county landfill. Lucky for me I walked him out to his truck and I asked if I could have this box since it was being thrown away. I tried looking online for the history but wasn't having much luck. Then I came across your archives page." Well, The City of Yorkton Archives does not do appraisals of antiques. However, the item was of interest seeing it was once a product of the great Canadian T. Eaton Company. It would be interesting to know how it ended up in New Mexico. Apparently, Eaton's made deliveries of canned goods, etc. It is also likely that they used these boxes for mail-order shipment of Scotch Whisky a hundred years ago. The box actually folded flat for easy handling and storage. Any additional information and stories will be appreciated. Albuquerque is a city of a half million on the Rio Grande.
