Take two for AKT 2

A short film produced by Yorkton's Terry Ortynsky garnered some critical acclaim last week on the international festival circuit.

AKT 2, which won the Audience Choice Award at the Artisan Festival International Cannes World Cinema Initiative in May, picked up the Grand Jury Prize for short films (long) at the 22nd Annual Woods Hole Film Festival.

Woods Hole is a large independent festival, which typically features more than 100 entries with a focus on Cape Cod and New England filmmakers, but including films from all over the world.

Ortynsky said it was "fantastic news" to be recognized critically, although he was also very pleased with a third place in the Audience Choice awards, the second time AKT was a fan favourite since its release this past winter.

On the heels of the big news, Ortynsky and partner/director Robert Fritz announced they had signed with Los Angeles-based Film Marketing Services, an agency that will represent their films.
