The Willowbrook Lions Club held its annual Homemade Sausage Contest Saturday. The contest attracted 11 entries which were judged by the quartet of Allan Polegi, Mark Benko, Corey Larsen and Clint Sheppard on three criteria; appearance, texture and tastes. Top spot went to an entry by Vince Somogyi. Second went to Curtis Dubiel and third to the Kamienecky family. All three winners are from Willowbrook. The sausage entries, along with a number of varieties from area businesses were then part of a sausage and perogy supper. Here Jonathan Hull and Tyler Nesbitt cook up dozens and dozens of perogies, Nick Smutt and Garth Greiner cutting up sausage and Bev Maystrovich stirs the onions in preparation for the supper.
