With 131 participants and raising just under $5000, the 30th Terry Fox Run held in Yorkton on Sunday, September 19 was a success.

That success may not have been possible without volunteer coordinator Michael Pasloski, who stepped in after realizing the run may have been cancelled due to lack of volunteers. Also, it was his goal to involve more youth.

This year the Terriers; junior Raiders football team from the Yorkton Regional High School; junior Saints football team from the Sacred Heart High School; and Gridders were all involved. Pasloski credits the 25 volunteers that were involved, "It was a good cause and people get behind good causes. It was easy to run and organize because of it." Pasloski plans to be next year's coordinator.

In 1980 Terry Fox ran a marathon a day, every day, for 143 days in rain, wind, snow, and heat. To date, close to $500 million has been raised worldwide for cancer research.
