Much has happened in the last 25 years, and photographer Mitch Hippsley had his camera out to capture a few of those meaningful moments. From May 2nd until May 28th, photographs from Hippsley's collection, "The Art of Life" will be on display at the Godfrey Dean Gallery.

"I try to capture real moments in life without showing too much fear or sadness - there's too much of that in the world," he said about his work. The collection of black-and-white photographs span from 1984 until the present and were taken from Central America to North America.

While some of the photographs were taken from far away locations, there is plenty of local flavour. "Maybe half of them would be within the realm of Yorkton," said Hippsley.

Images in The Art of Life range from a war veteran, to religious figures to young ballerinas. What they all have in common is a simple emotion, and genuine expressions.

The Art of Life is Hippsley's first showing at the Godfrey Dean Gallery. It is showing alongside a colour photography collection, "My Girls," by Evan Tyler.
