The Health Foundation receives donation

“The Health Foundation is one of the key charities we choose to support,” said David Dungey, Yorkton Canadian Tire store owner.

Canadian Tire in Yorkton has been a long time supporter of the Health Foundation in the city, and have contributed to $7,500 to the CT Scanner campaign. David Dungey, store owner (right), says that they want to support health care in the community, so they try to contribute to the different events and campaigns the Health Foundation does. Ross Fisher, executive director of the Health Foundation (left), thanks Canadian Tire for their support, saying that businesses like theirs are always an important part of buying new equipment for the region. The CT campaign is two thirds complete, says Fisher, and they hope to be able to order the equipment by the end of November.

“The Health Foundation is one of the key charities we choose to support,” said David Dungey, Yorkton Canadian Tire store owner. “The Health Foundation does very valuable work for this region; they raise money to purchase medical equipment that enhances the healthcare available to everyone in this area. We support those efforts because healthcare affects all of us, and we all deserve to have the best healthcare possible.”

“We also like to support some of The Health Foundation’s annual events as they fit with Canadian Tires own efforts to improve our communities, continued Mr. Dungey. Supporting the Charity Road Race and in particular sponsoring the Learn to Run clinics is a perfect fit for Canadian Tire and our values. Canadian Tire has a very deep commitment to providing opportunities for kids to play sports, to help make participation in recreational activities accessible for all children. We all can see that through Canadian Tire’s ‘We all play for Canada’ and Jump Start programs,” he continued.

“Canadian Tire’s contributions to our events and to our fundraising campaign for the new CT scanner combine to make a $7,500 donation that will go toward buying the new CT scanner,” said Ross Fisher, Executive Director of The Health Foundation. “It is very important to us to know we have the support of businesses like Canadian Tire when we begin a major fundraising campaign like this one.”

“Raising the money to buy a new state-of-the-art CT scanner is challenging. We hope other businesses and individuals will think about making contributions of their own. After all, the benefits of a new CT scan are clear: new technology means better images for diagnosis. It means medical conditions get caught earlier, and for most medical conditions that’s important.
