“Our Denim and Diamonds Gala was a great evening, raising nearly $40,000,” said Diane Rusnak, Chair of The Health Foundation. “We had 260 guests and raised a lot of money for the new equipment need in the ICU.”

Anytime you can raise money and the people making donations are having fun and enjoying themselves, you must be doing something right,” continued Mrs. Rusnak.  This Gala evening was very successful; the people who attended had fun and were able to dance to a live band.”

“Part of the Gala experience is the ambience, with the beautiful decorations and the little extras that you don’t see at any other event. Gala is meant to be a special night out, and our committee works hard every year to create something special and memorable for our guests.”

In 21 years A Gala Evening in Yorkton has raised just over $560,000, all of which has been used to purchase medical equipment for the Sunrise Health Region.

“We have strong results like this because we have such great support from the business community, with great sponsorship and many donations to our silent auction. This year $14,235 was raised by the silent auction.

In addition to the silent auction Sherring Diamonds donated a beautiful matching diamond necklace and earrings that was raffled off. We raised $2,300 on the raffle.

The Members of the Gala Evening organizing committee are: Chair, Diane Rusnak, MaryAnn Trischuk, Carrie Powell, Sandra Ruff, Vange Vallaster, Maxine Woodward, Wendy Zaporosky, Bridgette Carl, Kara Molnar, Cindy Dutchak, Ross Fisher and Debbie Blommaert.
