Complete Health Improvement Program (CHIP) invites the community to a free low fat inspirational supper Tuesday evening Oct. 1, 2013, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The evening topic will be Successful Weight Management. There will be a video lecture and a cooking class featuring a delicious low fat lasagna! The hall is located on the lower level gathering hall of the Seventh Day Adventist Church 384 Gladstone Avenue South. The CHIP club meets the first Tuesday of every month. Everyone is welcome. A unique singer/songwriter of Hard Folk music, Chris Gheran is coming your way on Wed., Sept. 25, performing at the Royal Canadian Legion #77 in conjunction with militia boys in the 64th Field Battery, Royal Canadian Artillery. Calgary-based, Chris is pro-soldier and has several compositions with military reference in his body of work. "Join the Army" was the first of these to be recorded and appears on the first of his four albums.

Gary Fjellgard, a Juno award winner plus Saskia and Darrel will be presenting a concert at St Andrew's United Church on Thurs., Oct. 17 at 7:30 p.m. The concert will be full of friendship, laughter and great musicianship. Get ready to enjoy the beautiful melodies, harmonies and honest home grown stories that these three troubadours are so well know for, add a few wild crowd pleasers. Culture Days Open House - Sun., Sept. 29, 12 noon to 5 p.m. The Yorkton Film Festival, Godfrey Dean Art Gallery, Yorkton Arts Council and the Festival of Cultures invite you to join us on Sun., Sept 29 to celebrate Culture Days, a national celebration of arts and culture. Live entertainment, traditional costumes, animated films and a new exhibition all here for your enjoyment. Admission is free.

Helianthus XXXV, an eclectic collection of original works of art created by prairie artists and artisans, is now in full bloom at community pARTners gallery! The Yorkton Arts Council is delighted to celebrate 25 years of Missoula! This outstanding program has been coming to Yorkton for 25 years, giving local children an exceptional opportunity to learn and participate in the wonderment of live theatre!
