Theodore Onufrijchuk was born in Ukraine February 17, 1904. He was educated in Ukraine, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Germany and the United States. In 1949, Theodore moved with his wife Ludmilla to Canada. He worked at the Dominion Agricultural Station, University of Manitoba and as a horticulturalist for the city of Winnipeg. In 1959, he moved to Yorkton to work as City Horticulturalist. He officially retired in 1974, but returned to work for the City until 1981. He planned and supervised the planting of hundreds of trees and flowers to beautify the city. He also designed Christmas decorations and Nativity scenes.
