Yorkton Region Traffic Services, along with the Broadview Satellite unit, conducted enforcement operations within the City of Melville on February 15, 2012 and within the City of Yorkton on February 16, 2012 as part of Operation 20/20.
The two-day blitz saw police agencies and traffic enforcement officers across the province focus on drivers violating traffic laws with specific attention given to violations relating to obscured vision.
The blitz resulted in the local Traffic Services units issuing a total of 22 tickets, including:
10 for speeding related offences
4 seatbelt tickets
1 ticket for failing to have a clear view
7 other Traffic Safety Act charges for a variety of other offences
Another provincial blitz will be held in March, targeting another key traffic safety issue.
