The Sunflower Arts and Crafts show was held at the Gallagher Center this past weekend. Sunflower is an annual event hosted by the Yorkton Arts Council.
It showcases some of Yorkton's arts and crafts talents while promoting local talent, creativity and sustainability.
There was something for everyone at this year's show, from decorative candy like soaps made by Maureen owner of Kerr Kreations from Saskatoon, to princess creations by Tutu Cute from Melville. Three year old Ada Schartier spent the afternoon picking out her princess costume with her mom, from various colors and hats to the fluffiest of dresses, there was a lot of decision making.
As attendee Sheri Petrychyn quoted "there is always something for everyone" while trying to decide on a necklace. From the littlest tots to the sweetest of sweet tooth's, to the adventurous international cuisine explorers everyone has something which intrigued their imagination or taste buds.
Karla and Kim Karcha made it a mother daughter day by trying out some exotic East Indian curries at Premala's Spicy Sensation Inc. Bob Mutukistna did his best to tell us all about the Chetuny "while covering for his wife, as she's the Boss".
Shelbi Mcfarlane spent the day picking out winter gear from furry warm mitts to moccasins with her mom.
The Best Seat in the House was enjoyed by Aabryella Kostyshyn and the sweetest tooth award went to Hazel Smith from Invermay, who was sampling some of Beary Berry Honey from Tofield Alberta, provided by the great family affair trio Mathew Thiessen and parents Sam and Sandra.
