Tourism facts for Yorkton, the month of July 2019

Yorkton’s motto is Where Good Things Happen! And as we continue through the summer season, more and more visitors from all around the world are visiting. The tourism industry continues to be an important economic factor for Yorkton, with $38.

Yorkton’s motto is Where Good Things Happen! And as we continue through the summer season, more and more visitors from all around the world are visiting. The tourism industry continues to be an important economic factor for Yorkton, with $38.1 million spent directly in the Yorkton constituency by visitors to the region.

Every year, Tourism Yorkton keeps a tally of all the people that come into the Visitor Centre and sign our guestbook, so that the people of the City of Yorkton can have a better idea about who is coming into our city, why, and from where.

This year, Yorkton has had an impressive amount of visitors in May and June with 740 visitors coming through in those two months. However, in July alone, there have been 509 total visitors, nearly 70% of the combined total of May and June, and summer isn’t even over yet!

 

Some interesting facts about our visitors for the month of July:

Most of our visitors have continued to be from Eastern Canada, shifting from 58% of visitors in May and June to 57% of visitors in July

Our visitors from within Saskatchewan in July were more than the visitors from within Saskatchewan in May and June combined.

About 7% of visitors were from outside of Canada and 70% of those visitors were from the U.S
