Toys For a Cause

Yorkton’s Farm Toy Show was held at St. Mary’s Cultural Centre over the weekend, making its 31st year a success.  From young to old, all ages were brought together to gaze upon displays, enjoy various farm toy collections and purchase pieces to bring home. Collectors from across Saskatchewan, Alberta and Manitoba come together for this event, not only to showcase and sell their antique pieces, but to celebrate farming history in our province. In addition to the show, a toy auction was held Friday night before the show to allow collectors a chance to purchase new items, and other collectors a chance to sell their stock. $900 was raised in ticket sales and the charity tractor at the auction brought in $725. These proceeds will be going towards the medical needs of Lincoln Lipinski, a two year old boy with Cerebral Palsy.
