The Painted Hand Casino held their 11th annual Pow Wow this past weekend at the Gallagher Center.
The Pow Wow is a celebration of First Nations Cultural song and dance with dancers divided into groups based on gender, age and dance style accompanied by a variety of dance and drum competitions.
First time attendee Alaura Blackstone noted the event could cater to people all ages and cultures. "It was such a unique enjoyable experience. I thoroughly enjoyed the diversity of performers". The Pow Wow creates awareness for the community and younger audiences allowing the general public to build a relationship and gain knowledge of the First Nations People.
The weekend long event featured hundreds of dancers from all across North America and North West United States. A wide diversity of items were sold by vendors from both traditional and modern lifestyle.
