The week leading up to the Victoria Day long weekend is one of the deadliest of the year on Canada's streets and highways. In response, RCMP have declared the third week of May Canada Road Safety Week. Saskatchewan police held traffic safety blitzes at communities and parks around the province during the week, including this one in Yorkton on Thursday. Drivers who committed traffic infractions or had visible vehicle equipment infractions were stopped and ticketed on Broadway Street.
